2019 Race Calendar
I have decided to pick one goal race for the year and really focus on that training. The other races will be tune-up races to supplement training or just for fun. I have a lot of base building and strength to work on. I plan on using Hal Higdon’s Personal Best 30 week marathon training program which would have week 1 start the week of May 20th. Since this is a long program, I may adjust my race plan as needed.
2019 Races
5/26 - Bostons Run to Remember Half Marathon - I have run this a few times and love how convenient it is. I am going to run this as a long run versus a race and look forward to not feeling pressure of trying to get a PR.
6/20 - JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge (3.5 mile) - My coworkers and I always run this race. It’s right by our work and a fun team bonding event!
7/3 - Finish at the Fifty 5k - Dave and I have run this race a few times and it kind of has become a tradition. It can be a hot one but it’s always fun running in the stadium.
7/14 - Narragansett Summer Festival Half Marathon - We ran this last year and it was also a hot one but hey-why not?!
10/20 - Baystate Half Marathon - I was searching for a CIM prep race. I was going to register us for the Cape Cod half marathon but wanted one a little closer so we didn’t have to worry about paying for a hotel and Baystate seemed perfect!
12/8 - California International Marathon - I’ve heard great things about this race and can’t wait! I’ve heard it’s got some rolling hills so I’m going to have to make sure I keep up with strength and hillwork.
